Created out of
necessity

We needed scheduling
We needed reporting
We needed an all-in-one solution

So we built StaffNet.

The Story of
StaffNet

StaffNet is a result of streamlining multiple services into one.

Our journey began as a small commercial and residential cleaning business. Like most start-ups, we experienced a somewhat sluggish beginning before things started to click, and boy did they click. Perhaps overwhelmed with excitement of how well we were thriving, growing faster than we expected, at the same time we found ourselves equally becoming disorganized.

Our disfunction resulted in losing momentum, losing clients, and stunting our growth.

We did a review of our business practices, looking to reveal our pitfalls and regain our footing. What we discovered was that we had scattered our business information across several disconnected platforms.

The basic foundation of our business' needs were employee scheduling and management, job reporting, task and project tracking, and inventory and client relationship management. We searched for a solution that could provide all those services on one platform.

To our surprise, we couldn't find one. So, we decided to build our own.

Well, more accurately, we partnered up with extremely talented developers sharing our vision, and StaffNet was born.

Who is StaffNet?

Dwayne Johnson

Co-Founder

Dwayne’s entrepreneurial spirit developed early on, watching his Caribbean mother travel throughout the islands selling various goods and services. Her drive and dream of being self-employed and operating her own business rubbed off on him. With his experiences of leading the StFX basketball as captain, being out on the Atlantic working on fishing boats to assistant general manager for a national fitness club, Dwayne gained an understanding of the challenges of being an independent operator along with the best practices of the corporate environment and utilized it all to launch a commercial & residential cleaning company with his business partner, Jenna. Looking to improve operational efficiencies but unable to find a software solution that would manage clients and services, organize staff, and maintain inventory, the pair decided to develop their own. After various interactions with their clients, Dwayne saw the potential that StaffNet could be more than just a solution for them but for many other small businesses.

Jenna Zeng

Co-Founder

Jenna’s career path began in healthcare which fulfilled her desire to assist and help others. As a PSW, she worked in a number of long term care facilities within Ontario for several years but as fulfilling as the work was, Jenna had the urge to venture out on a different path. She took on a sales position at a national fitness club and instantly fell in love with it. Her role expanded to include management of staff, scheduling, and guiding new associates. She decided to use her accumulated skills, established a business partnership with Dwayne and launched a commercial & residential cleaning company. With Jenna heading the financial and staff management responsibilities, she began to realize that the tools they were using hurt more than they helped. The issue was that business information was scattered across disconnected platforms resulting in confusion and operations becoming disorganized. Researching software alternatives proved fruitless, so the pair designed their own, StaffNet.
